Describe a time when someone apologized to you
You should say:
When and where this happened
Who apologized to you
Why he / she apologized to you
And explain how you felt after that
_______
I’d like to tell you about an apology I received from my work colleague, Trang, during a team meeting in our office conference room.
So, Trang and I were collaborating on a company project when a misunderstanding about the responsibilities arose . I thought she was going to handle a particular task, while she assumed I was taking care of it. This miscommunication eventually led to a delay, which really upset our manager.
Initially, I was quite frustrated because I felt that if Trang had talked her tasks over with me, we wouldn’t have been in such a dilemma . However, to my surprise , Trang decided to stand up and apologize in front of everyone during our next meeting. She admitted to misunderstanding the task allocation and not double-checking with me. Trang also mentioned that she valued our teamwork and didn’t want her oversight to affect our professional relationship.
I was deeply impressed with her honesty and humility , to be honest. I mean, it’s not always easy to pluck up the courage to admit your mistakes , especially in front of others. Her apology felt genuine and sincere, which left me with a sense of relief and a bit of pride , knowing that she had recognized the issue and was willing to take responsibility for it. Right after this incident, Trang and I decided to have a personal discussion to avoid similar issues in the future. The talk was very constructive and intimate , as if we had been close friends for ages.
Looking back, although annoying and disappointing at first, this misunderstanding has definitely hepled strengthen our relationship later on, which I am deeply grateful for.
