Some people claim that public museums and art galleries will be no longer necessary because people can see historical objects and works of art by using a computer.
Do you agree or disagree?
SAMPLE ESSAY:
Nowadays, it is believed that public museums and art galleries will soon fall into disfavor since people can admire historical artifacts or art exhibitions with the assistance of smart devices and the Internet. Personally, I disagree with this statement and will offer my opinion in the following essay.
On the one hand, proponents of such an idea would argue that the Internet greatly facilitates people’s admiration of historical value in many ways. First, thanks to continuous technological advances, Internet users can simply search for historical objects or works of art using prevalent online search engines like Google. By doing this, people can save considerable amounts of time and energy traveling long distances to a museum or art gallery and thoroughly enjoy the beauty of historical value via online tools. Second, virtual museums and exhibitions can provide customers with some convenience that real ones can hardly equal . Specifically, there are no limits for opening times or not too many complicated procedures involved such as making reservations in advance or buying tickets.
On the other hand, I disagree with the initial view and believe that admiring real historical artifacts and artistic masterpieces can offer fulfilling experiences for many people. This is because they can see these magnificent objects directly and profoundly sense the atmosphere of historical events and works of art, thus possibly strengthening their patriotism or pride in their national identity . Furthermore, visitors could feel a strong sense of honor and privilege contemplating authentic historical and artistic masterpieces, such as the renowned painting of Mona Lisa, in real life. This feeling is undoubtedly superior to that of seeing online images of art and artifacts since they can be easily found and an element of authenticity is lacking.
In conclusion, despite the assumption that real museums and art galleries would be rendered unnecessary with the widespread popularity of the Internet and modern electronic devices, I still strongly believe they will continue to exist and convey spiritual value to visitors.
